SKILL TO LEARN: CALLIGRAPHY
Our group has decided to choose calligraphy for our skill because it is an enjoyable ability that many people could benefit from. Calligraphy is extremely similar to cursive, but has different techniques that make it unique. For our learner, we chose a college student, who has learned cursive previously in elementary school. Calligraphy is perfect for a college student to learn because it is inexpensive, and a fun way to relieve stress from everyday life. Our learner will demonstrate the proper techniques to effectively write calligraphy by practicing with different writing utensils. Our learner will start by using pencil, then highlighter, and finally the calligraphy pen. We hope by the end of our lesson that our learner will feel confident enough to write calligraphy on her own.
Calligraphy is the art of producing decorative writing through the use of a brush pen and markers. It is a skill that many, regardless of age can learn, and is a great way for someone to destress, beautify, and personalize handwriting.
